chevy power problems?

just traded in my charger. had a 160 alt never really any batter low voltage problems. always seen above 12.5 now i have a new impala 150 amp alt. im seeing down to 10 volts and the system doesnt sound as good. i checked battery its good. big 3 is done already. i bought new power and ground wire for fresh install of the new car. amp setting never changed and head unit is back to the setting i had it on in the charger.

with that being said 10 amps wont make that much of a difference i dont think? between the 2 cars alts.

i do know that chevy has this battery saver thing in the car. not sure if it is a feature that cuts power to things like dome lights or something if left on. my voltage meter reads 12.5-13 not on. while the car is running its seeing sometimes 13 volts flat or sometimes 14.5 -15 volts while running. seems odd that it would be charging at a different voltages. chevy has the feature where it will cut back on power needs if not being used . and when the battery starts getting a little bit more drained then it will provide a higher charge rate. anyone ever work on an 2013+ impalas? that could fill me in f something doesnt seem right? im aso kind of thinking thatr maybe m ground is bad but the system slams loud. i dont have a volt meter right now. got lost in moving recently.

and if you have a bad ground will it cause low voltages ? i see this everywhere. but people tend to say if your ground is bad then it wont be grabbing much voltage in the first place so the voltage should still be high.

figured it out. every single screw that holds my subs in place came loose. both subs were able to lift up about 1/8th inch so they were probably loosing a lot of back pressure inside the box. voltages stay around 13 now cept on some hard bass notes. other wise it slams again. also.

i notice with this new car that my charging voltages read about 14.5-15 volts after startup. and for a while they tend to stay in that range. but then i will look down at my voltage meter and it will be holding a flat 12.4 charge rate even after i have the system off. i dont think an alt is supposed to be supplying a 12.4 voltage charge to my battery or cars electronics for one. and if this was the battery saver shlt it still doesnt make sense that the voltages would be dropping dwn to under 13 volts charging while the car is on. again anyones feedback on this would be nice. when the voltages drop down this low i dont even play my system because i cant possibly run it off a 12.4 voltage rate and hope to god it stays in that area. because it doesnt. it drops farther then that like 10.0 volts.

these new cars are a pain in the arse. all the full consumption monitors, battery monitors, electrical sensors are just a pain in the butt.

i have some $$ coming in and have plans for a 270 alt but not sure on how the computers going to try and boss that new alt around.

internal or external? i was just looking up mechman has some external charging solution for about $110. can controll it up to 20 volts. but i wouldnt go that far hah. said i can see a steady 15 volts 24/7
