So I just got an offer to trade my 04 civic 5spd for a 1999 camaro slp z28 6spd camaro. They said that the gas is just too much and they need something bigger for a childs carseat.

This camaro has 132xxx miles on it and needs a headliner and the leather seats are a little ripped.

What should I look out for? I'm kind of interested but I'm weary of the trade. Love the fact that its a manual but I know it could cause trouble from previous owners not knowing how to drive correctly.

Any input appreciated.

I know this, the car is 2+ hours from me so I want to make sure I know EVERYTHING to look for. I know to listen for diff noise, and leaking tops.

Its not beat up. The body is straigt, front bumper has normal paint chips, a few rips in the front seats, and the headliner sags a little bit near the t-tops. Has z06 wheels on it that needs tires (my buddy has stock ***** am wheels I can use). Other than that its missing the front lip of the "lip package" that I would take off anyways.

And I grow bored of the civic. Lack of power and every time I want to do something to it, I lose interest. The gas is great, but the camaro is a 6 spd which constitutes for better mileage so I'm not scared about gas by anymeans.

Here is the car. A chick car apparently, and needs more room for a car seat aswell.

pics of the said camaro? the ls1 is a great motor. very strong, parts arent exactly cheap but its a chevy so everyone knows how to work on it. there are alot of mode avil for the lsi that are just bolt ons that can make a very big difference. not so much for the civic. i would make sure u listen for valves tapping, from what ive heard thats a big problem with some ls1 motors if they have been taken apart or rebuilt. drive it around the block and see how it shifts. should shift pretty hard so that shouldnt be a worry (depending on the car), but i would say go for it if its in good condition. look under it good to see if there is any oil under the car, on the ******, on the oil filter, looks for scratches under the car and all that stuff. and if thats all gravy then i dont see u having a big problem in the future

Pics are up. My buddy as a 99 TA and has dealt with the tapping issue so he knows what to look for. And the car averages 10k miles a year so that's really not that bad. But she doesn't have a record of maintenance. If it had that, I would have grabbed my title and cleaned my car out asap. But I just need to grab my buddy and go look at it.
