cheepest 4channel amp?

the jl is $700 and ppis $450 to me $250 is a lot but if you loud up your car with jl it doesn't matter. jl is good and i would put jl in my car but not for the price. the pg tantrum is 1400 + watts rms from 2 + 4 ohms. that will work with any standard dvc configuration except for jl which they have to dual 3 ohm and dual 6 ohm so you have to buy there amp. you never even had a us acoustics so why are you judging it like you are? i never ran a jl 1000/1 amp and i'm not saying it isn't any good, there are amps that will work just as fine for less money. if us acoustics were such cheaply built amps why would they back there products up with a 3 year warranty?

The tantrum can only reach full power at 2 ohms. At 4ohms power is 1/2. Same with ppi. In order to push 1000 watts into 4ohms you would have to double the voltage. The JL can do that. At 4ohms the damping factor is doubled, andall speakers in sync at 4ohms. Put any amp you want in your ride, just don't say i didn't warn you. I wouldn't spend 750 on an amp, i got my bass amp for $200. My point was that your better off buying a quality used amp, than a cheap new one.

dude your wrong the tantrum reaches full power at 4 ohms. it was bench tested at 1422.8 watts rms @ 4 ohms. it isn't half like you claim. if it is my tantrum can put out then 2844 watts rms @ 2ohms. i can show you the birth sheet that says 1422.8 @ 4 ohms if you would like but i really don't feel like arguing with you because you feel all there is is jl audio.

actually the tantrum is rated!!!!!!! and i said rated @ 1200@ 4ohms....... that's by phoenix gold..... if u notice when u see the bith sheet, notice the f'n amount of amps it draws when 'putting out' 1400 watts or whatever...... the ratings depends on the amount of jucie u have in ur car to supply to the amp

Ya, well the specs say 700@4ohms and 1400@2ohms. I would like to see that birth cetificate that says 2844@2ohms rms. JL amps are expensive to make, they use regulated power supplies that maintain consistant power 11-14.5 volts and can adjust rail voltage for differnent loads 1.5-4 ohms. they do not cut corners and use cheap parts to lower the price.

Saying that there are lots of amps just as good for alot cheaper is not true. A better statemnet would be, "I'm a hater, I can't afford quality, so i'm gonna talk shizit."

here are reviews:

This amplifier is worth every penny they're asking for it, BUT, if you can find it here on sale or have them beat a lower price like I did you'll be even happier. They do indeed surpass their rated specs. According to my certificate, mine puts out 1429wrms @14.17v into a 4ohm load. The "sound quality", oh the sound quality. I had never heard such a clean sounding detailed amplifier before I hooked mine up. It's sound reproduction is absolutely wonderful. I had it pushing a Crystal CMPx2 15" in a vented enclosure, and I'm now using it to power an Eclipse sw9152 15" in the same vented box ( tuned to 35hz). Let me tell you, I've never heard a vented set up sound so clean. With both subs, I had the SPL of a vented enclosure with the smooth controlled sound of a sealed enclosure. As far as features go, it has just about every one you could want or need, that I can think of. HP & variable LP 18db crossover, all pass option, defeatable & variable 5-50hz subsonic filter, cooling fan (great for summer), upto 18db bass boost, and some great add on options. The only thing I can think of that it doesn't have is the feature to choose were the bass boost is centered, and that is not very important, atleast not to me.I added a HC Power 800amp battery to my 1200.1 so that it has all the juice it could possibly need. And you know what? After that, my sub actually hits even harder and sounds even better. I didn't think that was even possible.I've had some decent mono amplifiers in my short time in car audio, like, JBL PowerValve, Kicker KX series, MTX 1501D, Orion 250HCCA, Rockford Punch series, and Ultimate Digitalis

you obviously misunderstood my post. you said the pg tantrum doesn't puts out half of its power at 4 ohms than at 2 ohms. and i said if that were the case then my amp would put out 2844 watts at 2 ohm but it doesn't because it reaches it's full power at 4 ohms. your the hater because you think that a smaller company can't make good amps and that if it's more expensive it has to be better.

anyways the specs of that amp IS

1200.1 4ohms

1400.1 2ohms

someone said something about 700 watts @ 4ohms, i wonder where that came from sure wasn't the manual
