wont be permanent tho. im installing it in such a way that it will put me in a stock class if\when i compete and i will be able to remove it somewhat easily however heavy it might be.

the only thing i really should look into is a HO alternator or some way to modify to fit a second on there.

i take my time with these kinds of things when it comes to my own equipment, i dont rush into it all, so it will take me a while to get it all ready to go, but once i do it will be cool as hell //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

nice cant wait to see the pics of the install........i talked to a local alternator rebuild shop here for a quote on our alternators he said 200-250 amps max he could wind the dub alternator to and the price would be right around $260 with a year warranty....

What are you powering the woofers with? And what amperage is the stock alt? You might be able to get away with a fairly large battery bank in the rear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i could, but whats the point. this is an experiment to see how loud i can get for the lowest price possible. so far i dont have a crazy amount invested in this system. im trying to stay under $1000 for the entire budget, and my goal is a 150.

as far as amplifiers, im thinking of trying to locate a pair of PA3000DBs and strap them at 1.4 for about 4~5kw. but if some other deal comes up then yea. im just looking for a good amount of power and if i need to i will go up with the electrical. all i have currently is 0awg to the back and a HC1800 in the front.

we shall see //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

here are the amps i am looking at so far.

that is about my price range. anyone have any suggestions that will fit that budget? im also looking for tested and proven amps that give out 2kw+, so lets see em //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

^^^ Hey check out the Crunch Ground Pounders, I cant remember the price but I remember them being cheap from onlinecarstereo, they have gotten nothing but great reviews as well. And if I were to choose between the PA and Opti, I think the Opti might be better built. Ive heard things about components falling off the boards of the PA's if you dont mount them good.

but he was talking about the ground pounder series. and my subs are DVC1.4 so i would either a 1.4 ohm load for the pair, or .7 for each.

i would like to get a single big amp 4-5kw or a pair of 2~3k amps. not sure what is more efficient, but that is my thoughts so far.

All of the Crunch GP amps are listed with a max power rating i.e.....GP2500D=1250wrms except for the GP3000D

I would look into the GP3000D possibly. 450 new and they put out atleast 3000wrms. IIRC they can handle tons of voltage, and people have expected almost 4000wrms out of one.

Not bad for the money.
