Check out tha BTL

yea not the coils the lead thats what i meant to say, sorry
do u think thats what happened otherwise
What i beleive is that the heat of the tinsels has nothing to do with this drivers failure, its moreso someone trying to JimmyRig it together and pawn it off on me, the lead that broke is obviously way to short and was rigged up because as u can tell theres almost zero slack in it whatsoever

People been telling Fi to make woven tensel lead from the gecko... I dont understand what is the big deal about doing it? Lazyness I guess?
Woven tinsel leads have their own issues. Namely, irregular stress around the spider (it now has a semi-flexible wire woven through part of it). Both types have their advantages and drawbacks, no Fi is not just being lazy. Sewn tinels (not woven) seem to be where its at these days.

WTF is from the gecko? lol You mean from the get go. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

how was it rigged
do u see a spot where it was soldered
No, i didnt look because it didnt occur to me at the time of taking the pics either, but as u can see theres almost zero slack in the broken lead whatsoever, the lead will barely reach the terminal end, much less have any slack left over

so are you saying if i order my recone at any point from here on out ( today or later ) that it will come with the updated tinsels?

so if it wasnt soldered they would have had to completly remove the dustcap and replaced the tinsel

which is no easy feat believe me

so im still leaning towards overheating

The amp came with a birthsheet of 3831W @ 1, just because its MTX means nothing, theres reviews of these all over the place and they do way more then rated, ur judging it by the brand name which is kind of stupid
Name is everything in the car audio market, the 1501s were notorious for dumping nasty dc out of the channels. also most "birthsheets" are random numbers generated within a specific range.

I also just spent the last 4-5 mins looking for any test results posted online saying these amps do rated power, couldnt find a single one. A link from someone reputable who isnt related to the company would be nice

then it was most likely resoldered, im not saying it wasent, im saying i didnt look for evidence of resoldering because it did occur to me at the time of taking the pics

if it was soldered u would be able to tell from the pics u listed

it was not call fi about tinsel leads

but u will have to do it urself or pay a good amount to have them recone
