i plan on running both pos and neg 1/0 to the rear battery, was wondering if i could use the good knu flex for the pos run, and the cheaper copper klad for the neg run. would save some cash but do i need the same type of wire?

You don't NEED the same type of wire. Obviously the clad stuff will work, they sell it don't they?

Just buy a smaller run for the ground, and ground to chassis. It's the easiest route if you are trying to save money. If you are incapable of finding a chassis ground. Then ground to the body, and run a new ground from your battery to the body, thus creating a circuit.

But if you HAVE to run your ground to your battery, you can use the clad wire, but I don't see the need.

Plus, how much more is it to get the copper stuff? a couple bucks? 10 bucks? 10 bucks is worth getting good wire in my book.

Your ground wire should be just as good or better than your pos wire. Two different brands if they were equal would be fine but not two different types of wire.

as long as the current requirements of the amp(s) don't exceed the 250A capacity of the CCA you should be fine. Then again, as GP said - if that's the case just use the CCA for (+) too.
