cheap speaker suggestions

Im looking for a set of 6.5 and 6x9 for my wifes 74 bronco. Now I have a nice stereo in my truck and mustang but she doesnt want to spend much. So far I found kicker DS series for $104 shipped for all 4 and mb quart ftb/fkb set for $100 shipped for all 4. So wahts your opinions on these and any other brands I should look for? These will be ran off of the HU til she can get a 5 channel amp and I can add a sub.

Look at some Cadence speakers,Polk Audio DB series.

Id say around $100. I know that aint much and I paid twice that for just my fronts but she aint interested and itll need a way better stereo with the top off.

Yes sir, thats pretty darn Cheap..Ill look around a bit, and try to post some stuff..i wouldnt rush, you may find a great deal for your money, even buying used

Really? Those pioneers would be better than kickers and mb quart? I love pioneer HU but their speakers? Are the kickers any good or comparable? I really like th elook of them and I LOVE thier amps and subs but never heard their speakers. I use infinity kappas usually but their over her budget as we still need a HU and amp too.

A friend of mine bought some pioneer speakers pretty close to these,and really cheap.I thought they would sound like DogChit,and that the rms value was to low for my liking,.But he placed them on an old USA US Acoustics 4060, and they sounded amazing for the money,very impressive.the Kickers you placed on here,Ive had, and didnt sound that great in the midrange area,lows were muddy,more just loud than anything.MB?I havent bought any since they were actually from Germany,..Been a while with exception of buying two sets of tweets, and one set blew pretty easily with less the rms recommended

Yea I remember when the 2 best where mb quart and boston. Guess times have changed. Thanx for the advice on the kickers. I loved to looks of them and they have great reviews but I trust the advice from people on here than on amazon.

if you dont feel like you can install the components these are great.

I did s sets of the cadence 6x9 in my gf camry and they sounded great. i eventually put them on a small 2 channel amp like this

and they sounded amazig. better then the kickers as i listened to them and was not impressed.

I would also def do the components over the coax its well worth it.

Never thought of cadence. Are they good speakers? Are components better than coaxil and if so why?

I think the 8" would provide a good amount of mid bass.
