Hey guys... I am looking for a cheap yet somewhat decent 2-way alarm for my Integra. I have installed a couple alarms, a remote start and a few keyless entry/shaved door kits so I have some experience. I also already have a complete wiring diagram I got from a guy at Best Buy for $5 (probably could have found it for free online but WTF, I was there and had $5). So, I am just looking for a decent 2-way I can install myself as I paid $250~ plus tax to have one installed in my Durango and then found the alarm online for like $40-$60 so, no way I am going to pay someone else to do it again!

I was looking at this Phoenix Digital PD-175 for like $75~

Or this one made by "Shark" for $55~

* car alarm and keyless entry

* Works with most cars with automatic and manual transmission

* Includes two LCD remotes

* Code hopping technology for anti-scanning and anti-grabbing

* Compatible with factory security system

* Multiple user-programmable features

* Visual and Audio alert on remote

* Car/alarm status LCD display on remote

* Reservation mode and Turbo mode selectable

* Valet mode

* Anti-carjacking system

* Door/Hood/Trunk sensors

* Silent arm/disarm/alert

* Automatic windows roll-up

55 bucks to me immediately makes me worry..

why not something DEI or Compustar? they have the best reputation and reliability......

Alert

If you've ever heard the saying, good aint always cheap and cheap aint always good. Live by that. People who buy the cheapest stuff find out the hard way they should have spent a little more money and gotten a lot better product.

$55 for a 2-way....run as fast and far away from that as you can.

I used the P.D. one a few years back in my Neon and it worked just fine.

I just need something "basic" but prefer a two way. I will keep looking for now but I figure all of the success people have had with the "shark" amps it might still be worth a try.
