I'm looking for a perfect mechanically sound 12 sub that likes to be tuned to 30hz and give me a massage!

Want to wire it at 1 ohm on a ASPM1500 push around 1100ish watts to it!

Budgets $150 shipped. Tryna find a better alternative to a OA12. Put up, or get out!

Eh, I don't want to put my OA15 into a better (and bigger) enclosure when I don't want to get louder (which will undoubtedly become louder)
I want more lows!!! With little trunk space used!

That's why I'm going with (hopefully) a FI Q, which I'm sure in the perfect box, get lower than my current OA15 and its box! My monies saying it'll be louder too....
Correct me if I'm wrong, we've talked about this several times. If you want better SQ, build the proper box. If it's too loud then, turn it down? Don't waste money on something when you already have something perfect for what you want. And if I'm not mistaken, Fi's prefer a little bit higher tuning.. They aren't exactly known for "DIGGING" the lows.. So that right there should make up your mind. Not to bust your bubble, I just dont like people to waste money.

just replace this box man... I can't believe you still have it. It is the source of your discontent. Not the sub.

It is all about the enclosure. I've heard garbage subs sound good in the right box.

Yep, this box needs to be better. 15" with a.....is that even an inch slot port???? If you're worried about being louder, turn it down. Pretty simple. Better box, and you'll more than likely be content with what you have. Hit up a box designer and describe your needs, and you'll be all set.

The fi q can dig very low in the right box, but it is not an sq sub by any means just high power handling sub that can dig low. I would not recommend getting for sq. if u want a cheap sq sub get a Dayton ho or idq v2/v3

I'm about to jump on that custom Type X 2500wrms....

You guys forgot that I'm trying to get as much trunk space as possible

I already have sketches for a good box for my 15, but its an addition 3 inches deeper than my current box, and I'm tryna go smaller ban my current setup...

Lets think about this!

That Custom Type X @ 1 ohm 1200ish watts in a good box tuned to "dig da lows" will probably sound better, and get louder than my OA15 @ 2 ohms 700ish watts in its current box (I've got 12v electrical) right?

And I get a ton more trunk space too....

Thoughts?

BTW you guys are right that I can just turn it down, I've got a freaking bass knob at my finger tips when I drive! So let's forget about trying to be quieter, since I can (and do) change it on demand!

I have a custom tc-9 12". It is on a candy blue ti basket but is missing the trim ring and has a scuff on the surround. 175 shipped and it is yours. Not sure on true rms handling but would doubt that the type x will take more any day of the week. I know it sounds awesome on 1000 rms. It sounds good in 2 cu ft tuned in the 28-32 range.

For $20 ( the shipping charge) I can get that custom Type X which is built for 2000+ RMS which has never been powered, so basically brand new...

I highly doubt I'm going to find a woofer like that for so cheap...

Plus, it doesn't have that dainty Type R Type X surround....

Big surrounds = Big ****!

I don't know how I disliked your post, but I can't undislike it, so don't take it personally!

You don't think 1200 watts to a 2500 watt sub will allow it to flex?????

Whuu?

thos custom type x's are built pretty beefy, you will need more power then the 1200rms to get em going.
