cheap HU effect subs sq??

i have a cheap kenwood deck. i think its the kenwood 132. i was just wondering if it will effect the subs performance?? thanks

yep, low pre-out voltage and i dont think that model even has sub control

no it does not but i used the sub bass knob instead and it worked good. the sub had alot of distortion. was it because it was a junk deck or a mtx 9500 15??

It was because the control you were using was adding bass boost and causing the amp to clip.

Low voltage preouts are not a problem and will not affect sound quality unless the HU also has a high noise floor (decks made by the big names are fine in this regard) and/or your amp has a crappy preamp stage.

I don't even look at preout voltage specs cause its just one more marketing ploy that really has no audible benefit.
