Cheap decent full HT setup?

Im thinking about doing a cheap HT setup. Will be used mainly for listening to music, and will be wired with my computer in my room.

I dont know jack shit about any kind of home audio, so I need it spoon fed to me. Im going to need a full setup including reciever, speakers, amp and sub(s). Will spend the money if necessary, but looking to keep it as cheap as possible. Dont need epic sound quality or loudness, just something that will have a nice thump, sound decent, and get loud. As I said, it will be mainly for my room, but every now and again we throw big parties and Ill need something pretty loud that I can throw into my living room and play it loud for a party.

Not sure if I should go for something smaller like a single 12" sub and a couple high quality 6.5s and tweets, or something like some 12" pro audio mids and tweets, and some 15" subs.

Any suggestions? Im pretty much clueless here.

Yeah, mostly music. Will probably hook it up for some games and movies as well, but mainly for music.

Cheap as possible is just what it sounds like. Not garbage equipment, but nothing super expensive either. Just a good setup that will give good bang for the buck.

I was thinking maybe a couple hundred bucks? I could build all the enclosures and everything myself, so it would be cheaper to just buy some raw speakers and put together my own setup.

Was thinking about it, and I already have a bunch of Eminence Alpha 6s, Delta 10s, and Selenium ST350 tweeters. I could just maybe use the 10s and tweeters and add a sub. Would that work? Use the tweeters for highs, 10s for mids, and subs for the bass? Like a simple 3 way system? Again, it will just be for listening to music mostly, and every now and again playing a video game/movie, and sometimes Ill need a lot of volume for a party (30 wasted people in a 30x15 room). Would something using this work? And would they be powered off the reciever itself?

As for the bass would this 500w Bash amp work? I would probably run 4 Hifonics 12s on it @ 4 ohm since they are so cheap. Used them before in cars and they rock for the money. Just want something that will play forever on the power when cranked up and not fail. Also something that if a drunk person kicks a hole in the sub or spills a drink on it, its not that big a deal and I can just swap it with another.

Well, normally you're describing something I would cringe at, but it doesn't sound like the app you're using them for is too demanding, so they'd probably work well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I probably wouldn't get a receiver, unless you have to have broadcast radio...a vintage integrated amp would do the trick.
