Yeah, the beers took me over last night. I should have put that down as a disclaimer so folks could ignore me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
Apologies to DJL - nothing personal man, please don't take what I said seriously.
I pretty much respect everyone's point of view, since folks have tested/used products that I have not. So if someone says brand X is better than brand Y, who am I to argue?
The surround stitching thing is real tho. Someone mentioned that another brand had stitching on some 80's models. This would make sense, especially if the cone was poly. We ran into surround issues with the old Energy 22 woofers when they first rolled out - we couldn't find a suitable glue that would hold the poly cone to the rubber surround. Sewing it was the only option.
Nowadays, adhesives have come far and this is no longer an issue (that I'm aware of), other than what I stated. Of course there is the aesthetic value to having a cone that is stitched, if done up properly, it could look quite appealing. Other than that, it is for the most part unnecessary.
So, now you know the background of my post. Just thought I would try to share some of my (old) experiences with you.
Best regards,
Mark
