Cheap DD Replicas

Kay, this isn't a bad thing, but just an //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Usually when you see stitching on a surround it is due to the wrong glues used, there is poor bonding between cone and surround, or there is an expectation that xsus will be easily reached and the surround is the first thing to break away.

Again, we are talking about a low priced unit. Just thought I'd share that.

If i'm not mistaken I believe HD3C's will have stiched surrounds but I guess they are somewhat considered a budget woofer

There are cheap surrounds stiched on cheap flashy cones that are done for the "look" and are dirt cheap. Then there are very high quality surrounds mounted on very strong cones with the very best of glues and then stiched for additional strength and are very expensive. I went the expensive route.

Please don't try to convince the folks here that what you are saying has any real merit. They are smarter than you think.

Every company uses high quality surrounds and cones, and they don't seem to rely on the extra weaving of the surrounds. If they do, there is reason to question the quality of soft parts used.

Cheers,

Mark

Hey man, I wish you all the best on your dollarama items.

Double cheers!

I saw some of these at an outlet store here in town about 3 months ago lol

I couldnt figure out for the life of me where I had seen ot before, but now I realize it was @ the local car audio shop when I was thinking about the 9500 lol

Id be interested in them, and almost bought one, but the glue joints looked a little questionable to me, but Im far from an expert...

hmm..

Wonder what DD is gonna do?

dont kicker use stitched surrounds too?

No offense to you, but from what I've read and seen, Audioque's quality is much greater than that of Mach5. That still doesn't mean that I won't possibly be buying an IXL 18.4 for use in my home setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

X2.. I think that I would purchase a lower budget driver from AQ before I would ever even think about purchasing one from Mach 5.. In fact, I cannot wait for the HDC3 to come out, as I plan on buying the 18.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
