i guess that is a way to go.. probably for money reasons.. but your amp is really underpowering them.. you are only giving them 250watts each and thats IF you trust the profile specs, which i am not sure are accurate..

yeah, it runs pretty hot too (and i have it mounted with plenty of ventilation). i think the only time i saw someone that actually benched the profile amp it got somewhere in the low 400's at 2 ohms.

my box builder just fell through, so maybe i will go with a new amp, but i'd like both eventually.

you can build a box yourself with a sheet of mdf (less then 20$) and a drill, circular saw, tape measure and all purpose adhesive caulk.. look around for some plans.. they are all over.. it really isnt as hard as it seems..

meanwhile, whether i would go with jacka's x600.1 for 160 shipped, or a brand new one on ebay for $200, i guarantee you would like it..

it amazes me, i drove to the quad cities today (about 1 1/2 hours) listening to some mega bass, and the amp was no hotter then when i got in the car this afternoon..
