Chassis amp grounding vs. running ground back to battery

Can I get some advice on this? This is my rookie install and I have read some that say you ground the amps to chassis close to the amp, and then I read about others who run a ground wire all the way back to the battery. What about doing both via a distro block?
Well, to answer your question, you can do both, but it would be a waste of money, unless you have a Corvette, or exotic sports car, with an aluminum frame and fiberglass body. How much power are you running? At most, I would run a 4g OFC cable straight to the frame and bolt it down. Then I would ground the amps to the frame near the amps. To be honest, today's cars are noisy wherever you ground it. If you have a high-voltage pre-outs and a good amp, you shouldn't have an issue.
