Old wall. Not the greatest pics, but basically 4 15's. Geometry of the Explorer had port area way limited. Was doing 157-158 neighborhood

Also box had a really funky shelf at the back. The has been tightened up so we don't have a little turbulence chamber at the back of the enclosure

Orion HCCA's handle 6K according to their marketing. They didn't fare so well VS. 4K each.

Took some effort, but we got the old baffle out. Now the interior is getting a lot of bondo and sanding, and eventually paint and possibly resin. Trying to get all the edges rounded over nice, fill all the old screw holes, and smooth it out perfect before I put the baffle on.

Also, one of the RF 4000's self destructed, so we're down to 3 amps. Built up 6 Shocker Sig 12's for him. This will keep the cone area of the 15's but allow much more port area.

Dual 2.8 Aluminum coils should also allow some other power options. We are going to start with running each amp at .7 nominal (1 amp per pair of subs) and see what happens. If we're rising terribly, we're going to look at different amp options and we have some good impedence options with so many coils.

Sweet. This is mikes explorer right?
Yes. Hopefully we have it ready for Sanford.

Put up the roundover on the port side, filled it with spray foam, and put up another can and a half of bondo. It'll need a few more cans of bondo, a lot of sanding, then possibly paint with resin, but Mike will do that if he wants it done. I won't do that one cheap and I know his Expedition needs a bunch of work.

looks good man. wish i knew some tops for ya but i deal with blazers/crx's for anything over a 56 :/
We are quite limited since the top, bottom and sides are already there and I'm not trying to remove them. Best we can do is round, smooth, and put up a new baffle. It'll be solid, subs will be flush mounted. It should give a good boost in port area and hopefully tune high enough that we can actually lengthen the port to tune DOWN to desired frequency, though I doubt it. More likely we will still want to tune higher, but it won't happen so at some point we'll have to just add more power.

we did that on the nspl crx. tuned in the 70s brought it down from there.
