it is, except now they can incredibly easily bait people. and i am under the full assumption that they are going to be trying to bait people to race, and for someone like me that doesnt want to race, but when someone is on the highway next to me and wont let me over i speed up, i already know they are going to be like "he was racing!"

wow, thats fcking wrong. ive seen a lot of people get nabbed for street racing that werent truly racing, they were just giving it a little go at the line, this is fcking stupid. Give people fines, put people in jail, but dont fcking take their property like this. Communism here we come.

not exactly... a cop does not have to tell you that he/she is an officer. however, they cannot deny it. its a very fine line.

for example, if you remember in the movie blow, when johnny depp and the other guy were buying pot from peewee herman for the first time, and he asks if they were cops, johnny depp just says "does he look like a cop?" this would have been a perfectly fine answer from a police officer. if an undercover officer flat out says they are not a cop, then it is entrapment.

one of the better arguments i have heard (from the forum i stole this from) in defense of this is:

"driving is voluntary. racing is voluntary. no one is forcing you to"

its just up to the discression of the police officer as to what they are going to consider racing... and then its going to come down to your word vs them, and guess who's side is going to win...

Thats not the part i was referring to, im talking about taking peoples property.

Speeding period is against the law, so now do i have to worry about them making it a law that if you speed, you get your car taken?

obtaining a drivers lisence is not a birth given right... it is a priveledge that must be earned.

and in the process of earning your drivers lisence you have already contractually agreed to the punishments implied by breaking the rules set forth by the governing body (DMV) including the confiscation of your vehicle.

the constitution just says "unreasonable searches and seizures" if you have something that is made to break a law, ie a car made the street race, then why is confiscating it so wrong?
