charging a capacitor

I have a Re HE 15 running 1200RMS. When i have it turned up at night with my headlights going it will dim my head lights so i bought a 1farad cap. All i want it to do is to keep my lights from dimming. How do i charge it up before installing it? Thanks
doubt it will solve your dimming problem...hook it up and it will automaticaly charge...or to do it the right way...put the - to the batt-...clip a teat light to the + on the cap...and touch the needle to the batt+...when the light goes out...cap is charged...you can also do this with any 12v bulb
