changing the port tuning after box is built

hey i got a box tuned to 41 and i was wondering if/how i could lower the tuning a little without making a new box....would i have to make to box bigger or smaller or what?!?

you could make the box bigger and/or extend the port length.

You could add polyfill to help make the box seem bigger.

As long as it doesn't interfer with the port or anything.

i was wondering the same thing i have a box ported and tuned to 35 hzs...but i want to be able to make it louder for like comps and what not...same question basically hes wanting from hi to low....

what about my low to hi?

you can decrease the port length and/or volume.

changing the box for SPL(higher tuning) is going to be easiest and have the best results. simply shorten the port, and in exchange you also gain some extra box volume.

however, changing the box for SQ(lower tuning) is most likely not going to produce the best results. you are going to have to lengthen the port somehow, which is going to produce a not so sturdy port since it is multiple pieces. its also going to decrease your box volume...

consider those two aspects before modifying a box
