Changing the frequency step

Hi,

I've got a Honda Accord (USA model, 2004). Is there a chance to program the built-in FM tuner's frequency step from 200KHz to 100KHz?

Here in Europe FM radio stations may also have odd frequencies, e.g. 92.4 MHz.

As far as I understand, to achieve this, I need to enter the service mode. How can this be achieved? Thanks for the help.

m.

Best guess would be to call a dealer in the US. That's priviliged info, I doubt any one who doesn't work in the service department will know. 92.4 should be acheivable through the stock settings though. I can get it here with mine if I go to that station.

I'd be very suprised if you could change the frequency spacing...might have to look into a European model tuner. Besides, an overseas tuner will get you other cool stuff, like RDS capability (usually). We don't use RDS here in the states (at least, 90% of stations don't do anything with it even if they broadcast the subcarrier), but it's much more widespread over there...

Thanks everybody who replied.

Found this firm specialising in such things:

Unfortunately, they are in Moscow, more than 1000 kilometers away. A bit too far //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

As for frequency change, I don't think it would be economically viable to make two different kinds of devices these days.

I hated using my US spec receiver when I was in Sicily, I couldnt get any of the channels I wanted because of the frequency step.
