how hard is it....can you simply find out the exact kind you need, order it online, and sodder into place? if one or 2 are blown should you replace them all???? id rather give it a shot myself then blow 100+ at a repair shop....

There may be more wrong than you can see.

If you replace mosfets, replace them all.

If you have never done it, take it to get done professionally. It takes much patience and I would replace them all if you are going to get into it.

replace them all, bust out the DMM and ohm all the resistors, caps, diodes, transistors, transducers, etc... make sure everything is ohming at its value

If you don't mind ruining the amplifier, I would try it. If it works, then you have experience, if it does not, then oh well, you know what went wrong.

ohming? whats that mean... and what is the correct ohmage for a diode and a capacitor? if your going to try and sound smart please use real words

You need a DMM with at least a diode setting so u can check the mosfets that u cant tell if they are blown

also you need a o scope to make sure the amp is putting out clean waves after you fix it... bottom line dont try this on your new 20.1, but if u have a old pyle amp thats blown that would be good practice

When I was fixing a Blown rockford amp that I had, I noticed a small surface mount transistor that was bad and I had to replace that also. Just some advice that more may be wrong than just a FET that's burnt.

its an mtx 150d.......and after all these advice AND talking to mtx and local repair shops...im gonna buy a new set (22 to be exact) mosfets and pay a local shop to put them in and fix anything else wrong...its a very reputable shop so im not oo worried...$35 to look at the amp, which is subtracted from parts and labor in the end.....and if i supply the parts the labor shoudlnt be too bad with $35 knocked off....they said it ussually run $50-$75 for labor....minus $35......yes professionals this time around....
