Change treble/bass on Alpine 9855?

I've got the Alpine 9855 set up pretty good, got the time correction all right and sounding good, etc. Now I come to a single problem. It is running 2 pairs of Type S speakers.

Problem:

I don't know how to go old fashion and turn up the treble and turn down the bass. All of the "factory eq" settings still have too much bass to where I can't get LOUDNESS out of the deck. Obviously turning the bass down on the deck (so i don't get much bass out of the speakers) will ruin the SQ of it, but I only want to do this while doing SPL. I cant turn up past 18 or so without getting distortion to my speakers because of too much bass going through them.

So then highpass your speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That deck doesn't have "treble" and "bass". That's what the equalizer is for.

Check to see if MX is off or on. If on, turn off. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

or

Use the XOVER feature and cut the bass you don't want down.

MX is on, however isn't this only to increase the SQ of burned CDs? Or does it do some magic that I dont know about //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Heh I know this, I'm just wondering what's equivalent on this deck. I guess I can mess with the EQ some //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Lol if you wanted a "treble" and "bass" knob, you probably should have bought a watered down version.
K.. you didn't read the posts. Obviously that's not there, I just used those words for lack of a better one. And, everyone knows what I meant, so it was a pretty effective choice of words //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Well it let everyone know real quick where you are at on the audio todempole. And i was simply suggesting if you don't know what you're doing with a higher end unit, and obviously don't have the time to read the manual; then maybe you should have bought something a little easier for you to understand.

As req so often says "if you don't know what you're doing, you probably shouldn't be doing it"

Im not sure about the new decks, but mine for example has certain levels of mx. I would reccommend leaving MX on but at a low level like 1 or 2. Level 3 sounds really unnatural and distorts your speakers at higher volumes.

Turning the MX off made a huge difference. Lot more loudness out of the deck now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif. Never thought this would make much difference //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif

For everyone else, thanks for the suggestions.

kuijo, GTFO, you're only here to try to prove your e-coolness //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif. Obviously it's not going to be labeled "treble" and "bass", but all of my other decks have had different names for the same settings. Treble and Bass were only my choice of words so everybody with any deck would know what I'm talking about, and obviously everyone does.

And the question is, how do I get in to where I can adjust these settings. I HAVE taken the time to look through the manual for all of my other questions, thank you.

Once again, GTFO.

Haven't found anywhere to change levels of MX, only on/off. Guess I'll look tomorrow some more.

THen why didn't you do it for this one? Eq's aren't hard to use.

Expand your audio jargon. Don't know why you're getting so defensive, its just the internet.
