Chalk another one up for Mean Green

Nice, I bought a MG alt a while back for my Mustang, gonna get around it installing it finally soon

Oh yea only paid 150$ for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Adding batteries won't do shit but increase the time you can run your system with your car off.

If you already are NOT dropping past 12.5v on full tilt, then I wouldn't worry about it unless you get more power.

wasnt expecting that from you. unless im misunderstanding you...

voltage and amperage are directly related and voltage deponds on what kinda of potential is left in the battery. wiring batteries in parallel means the amperage is added together and it basically becomes a bigger battery, thats made of 2 batteries.

put XX amount of load on 1 battery, you get XX voltage. put that same draw on 2 batteries and the current draw is split, therefore, leaving more potential with the batteries and of course, less voltage drop.

i really think im misunderstanding you, but if not, im gonna have to disagree with you. when you start to really load down that alt, extra power needs to come from somewhere.

i was under the impression it would still drop to 12.5, being that my amp is trying to pull more than the 240a my alternator is supposed to be capable of at full output, it would just take longer to hit that voltage. as you can see in the video, it only takes 1-1.5 seconds to drop from 14.4 to 12.5.

You stated at idle. So it's not giving you 240amps...

Also, I'm stating, once you have a solid electrical... where your voltage drop is under control, adding batteries will increase reserve time.
