CES 2006 Headunits: Alpine, Clarion, Eclipse, Pioneer

3.5 says that it will support a 4 way setup with a 5 band parametric dedicated to the midbass, midrange and highs each. not sure on xover slopes though.

btw orange, what were/are decisions on components and amp?

Components: Seas Lotus References

Amp: Arc Audio XXK 4150

HU = Either CD7000 or DRZ9255 (i'm just so **** stuck on this part)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

for subs...just my old 12s

Some old competition DEI DVC SQ 12s (2 of them) in a 1.15 sealed box

powered by my DEI 1100D Mono Amp...great match up.. each sub can take 550RMS = total of 1100 for both subs. Running amp in parrallel @ 1 ohm and such. Perfect match.

I'll post some pics becuase I don't remember what subs I have but I remember them being some what legendary...being capable of amazing things...so people said.

^ I know you are huge on looks but if you get either of those HUs you wouldn't be fully utilizing their capabilities unless of course you go with a 3 way active frontstage then i'd get the cd7000 especially with a dedicated eq to the midbass, midrange and highs. if 6spdcoupe is correct in his assessment of the retail price on the cd7000 ($599 he said) then the cd7000 is a freaking steal. with all of those features that is a really good price. i think i said this earlier and i dunno if you agreed or not but if you want a simpler look, look at the 8454. i found a pic, http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?p=931924. the pic is at the bottom of the page.

Damn that 8454 is one sexy motha fucka.

then CD7000 it is! the price would be right and I do not mind the looks of the CD7000 I kind of like it especially versus the CD8455. Too bad Seas doesn't make a 3 way set eh? but then again..there 2 way references are suppose to be AMAZING. we will see in time!

here's the seas midrange which you can add to make a 3 way frontstage, http://www.mobilesq.com/store/index.php?cPath=27_30_23_34. but of course there are other excellent options if price is a problem. but like you said earlier you need to find a way to get the midranges in your car. so i dunno, for tuning purposes a 2way setup is much easier.

aCTUAL MSRP of the ECLIPSE DECKS:

CD3000 $249

I have no confirmation yet whether it'll handle 4way active on the production version- although I was told so earlier in the week by a tech at Eclipse that it'll control a 3way active FRONSTAGE. Perhaps the sub chs are such in the xover that they can be used for L/Mid use?Weird..

So No confirmation whether it'll have 3 sets of preouts, 4 sets, or 3sets plus a mono for sub. Whether they will make a companion processor for it or capability to control the DCU105 processor. The new look of the CD7000 is what the '07 line is to appear like, as this unit will be carried over in '07. The change from 8v to 5v on the upper deck was a decision made strictly by Eclipse Japan.

I guess time will tell..
