I am not trying to hijack the thread here but I am suprised nobody is talking about the SW8200 metal cone sub shown on p.8. Did Eclipse also revive the 8000series sub lineup?

Thanks BodegaBay. It just so happens that I purchased my first ipod two weeks ago. I will have to compare eclipse and alpine on the functionality. Eclipse rotary knob looks as though it will act exactly like the ipod. Cool enough for a upgrade in my book.

WOW!!!, Eclipse is using a LMT motor for the new 8000 series sub that is just huge news. I wonder what the variations of it are compared to the RL-S?

Some old competition DEI DVC SQ 12s (2 of them) in a 1.15 sealed box

powered by my DEI 1100D Mono Amp...great match up.. each sub can take 550RMS = total of 1100 for both subs. Running amp in parrallel @ 1 ohm and such. Perfect match.

I'll post some pics becuase I don't remember what subs I have but I remember them being some what legendary...being capable of amazing things...so people said.

I forgot to mention something about Alpine decks after demoing them at CES. It seems that all their new 2006 single DIN units are only flip down, not the SwingFace. No wonder some of these units are priced lowered than years past; they've cut out a lot of features!

Motorized face has been industry std. for top tiered decks the last few years and I'm surprised Alpine has abandoned this -- at least for 2006.

It seems the Eclipse CD7000 and Premier PRS880 will be the only choices in 2006 for 3way active...

DRZ9255 and URAL CCD(if released ion the US) will be the only current HU's this year for the all-in-one chassis 4way active crowd..

URAL CCD? never heard of it.

Wonder if I could some how paint that cheap *** looking giant dial on the CD7000...would like to paint it black or gunmetal...that chromish look is garbage!

Its the Russian HU that May be coming to the states. Just do a search on here and itll come up.
