Center speaker acting up lately with low frequencies

I have a 12 speaker Sony system with a LOC to my 2 subs and recently, the speaker in the center above my stereo has been crackling when my subs hit certain frequencies. It works fine when I disable my subs. It seems like the vibrations are making it so the speaker cant play the tone correctly. My question is what can I do to combat this without having to replace the speaker. Is it simple enough that adding a capacitor or inductor in series with the speaker to create a high pass filter would fix it?

Be sure to see the sub specs. It should tell you the ideal sealed enclosure size.

Thanks for that. Good point about the chimes, I 'll have to check. My thoughts were that a true center channel could serve to raise the sound...
