Center Channel Speaker? Yes or No

Has anyone added a center channel speaker? I would want little more midrange/vocal sound up high in the center.

Would bridging and sharing rear speaker channel on the amp (Kenwood-8406) work? If it does, what kind of speaker would work best? (Tweeters are already so bright, I would want something less tweeting) And maybe use another passive crossover like this one to filter out high range?

Currently, rear channel of amp (70w RMS each channel) is connected to Polk Audio db651 (60w RMS).

Midrange/vocal up top comes from proper tuning, not a center channel. When IID and ITD are the same. you get a center stage

Its better if you have a head unit with time alignement and good EQ. Do things right the first time and you get proper soundstage with vocals dead center, instruments and bandsmembers are at their proper locations and drums sweeping across the dash.

Center channels can image in more than one seat. They are great tools BUT you have to have the right processing. CD music is not recorded for a center. Just Left and right.

Is it needed? If you only care about your seat, no

Looks like it's more of soundstaging issue then.

I think I need to replace my crappy head unit with an aftermarket one ASAP.

Thanks a lot for the help!

Btw, this is where I am right now.
