CDT question in general

well, back again after much hesitation. Basically, when i bought my deck (the Excelon) i got free kenwood speakers (free meaning 50 dollar ones). Since i have no sub, i use my stock 6x9's and max out the bass boost (yeah, its fun).

Anyway, i was looking for some moderately inexpensive, slim coaxil's, and found the EF-61NEOX which is basically the EF Neo Components...except not components (at least on paper). Crossover aside, i was wondering if anyone had tested or used them (unless i want to drive 400 miles to california, i can't test them myself). Sarcasm aside, i was just wondering if CDT's are good speakers, which can produce a natural sounding...sound (they do have silk tweets).

In the bass department, i also killed another bird with one stone, the CDT 6x9 subs (perfect for a stealth install, and i'd need one. I'm sure where i live someone would take them if they saw them). Anyway, i was wondering if anyone had any experience with them or CDT subs in general.

thats about it. I'm just posting to make sure that the experts here will confirm that CDT's are good.

Thanks.

I would open your choices up a bit.

CDT is okay, but better can be had for the same price range

What is your budget?

Also, with minor modifications you might be able to fit an 8" subwoofer in your vehicle, while maintaining the "stealth" install. That would open up your options a lot as well...there are a quite a few great 8" subwoofers that don't break the wallet.

You might want to try to find a forum member in the area with the set youre considering, to get an idea of what they sound like.

Of course, every install will be different.

well my budget isn't much...i don't have much money. It'd be probably 200 dollars for 2 subs (2 8 inchers) and a pair of coaxils.

I'm open to any suggestions, but know that space is quite limited for both subs and speakers, so i would like them to be as slim as possible.

Anyway, i want it to be natural sounding, and as long as i can get a nice punch, i don't care if the bass shakes the car or not.

Can you post that list up. I would like to see what we are talking about here. Thanks!

i have had MBq, Infinity, Polk, Pioneer, JL comps and the Cdt comps i have now sound the most natural and i love the smoothness of the silk dome tweeters. My brother was using Hex comps until he heard my Cdt's and switched as well.

Cdt makes comps up in the thousands of dollars and i am just using an entry level set that cost 150 bucks and i am so pleased with them.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

When Image Dynamics gets back up and running, the ID8v3 is a great little woofer

Kicker 8" L7 can be found in ebay for a decent price.

Kicker 8" CompVR is only like $100 on sounddomain

http://www.low-hz.com/commerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_33&products_id=46 - Never heard any reviews of this sub, but would be something to investigate.

http://ascendantaudio.com/assassin8specs.html - I really don't care for AA, but I'll mention them because the product easily falls within your price range

http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=29 - Same comments as AA...don't personally care for eD, but I'll mention them anyway.

That's what I can think of off hand.

Actually, the Crystal CMP8 has the highest Xmax at 19-20mm

But, I don't like AA on an ethical level for how certain things have been handled in the past....Same with eD. But I really don't want to get into that here......
