CDT or Focal

i finally narrowed my decesion down to two components, the 6.5" cdt cl-61a w/ tw-25 1" tweeters or the 6.5" focal 165v2 polyglass. i know both are really good components and that's the reason i'm stuck betweewn the two. i'm looking for the best sq but still want something that will be able to get loud. the focal seems to be the more powerful one of the two. however, sq is more important. i plan on getting a new highs amp, something that will produce 75w rms. any comments/reviews between the two are appreciated. thanks!

i got a used 6.5" cl-61 component set with tw-25 tweeters. i am somewhat satisfied with this set. it's not as efficient as my old mb quart components. the highs are little too loud, even at the -3db setting on the crossover and 0db on my eq. but the sound quality is good. how do the highs of the focal polyglass compare the cl-61? thanks!

anyone in los angeles/orange county area own a set of 6.5" focal 165v2 polyglass comps? it would be greatly appreciated if you could demo them for me. i generally don't like doing demos at car audio shops since the sound characteristics are much different from those found in a vehicle.

which 1" tweeter are you using the CL61's the silk or titanium.

Also, are you driving the CDT's with the old KAC-648? I suggest you get a better amp. I had a kac-848 and it lacked alot of power. I doubt it even put out its rated power.

i believe i'm using the tw-25 tweeters. the tweeter have no part number but i figured they are the tw-25 since they are an upgrade option for the cl-61 component set. they are being powered by the kenwood. i want to definitely get a new amp for the highs. i just don't have the funds right now.

i got a good deal on the new profile ap1040 amp. 4-channel 80w rms at 4ohms. i'll post an update after i install the amp. this is tripple the amount of rms power that i'll be feeding my highs. my previous amp only produced 25w rms at 4ohms. hopefully my cdt's will be able to shine.
