CDT CL-61A Sealed FG... Recommended?

I'm going to be doing door panels this weekend and I'm just wondering if I should even worry about the size of the FG enclosure, I mean I can probably add some volume to the box but it would be easier if I didn't...

So how do people feel about sealed Components and especially the CDTs obviously

My CL-61's are in sealed kick panels ... midbass leaves a lot to be desired.

I opened up the backs of them and it didn't really make a difference.

well the 61s arent exactly renowned for midbass i guess.. least from what ive heard

They're the worst set of speakers I've ever owned. Only reason I still have them is because I really don't want to shell out more money for the winter car.

The size of the enclosure is going to be very important to the overall sound. Low frequency extension, overhang/accuracy of the midbass, etc is all going to be dictated by that one aspect.

yarghhh so this could make the fiberglassing very tedious.. might have to make an extension that goes into the door further..

and if mounting the tweeter in the same enclosure will it make a neglectable difference? also who has recommended volume for these CL-61As.. I'd like to get the best possible sound out of them I guess

I do not have the exact numbers with me at work. But I do remember that the T/S parameters looked better for an infinite baffle setup.

CDT speakers are built for IB in well deadened doors. But if you're making an enclosure, .3cu ft will do. The CL woofers aren't too bad, very flat across the board, but the CL-61A tweet is horrible. You need the 1in tweet and not the 3/4 one.

well do you think it would be better for me to make some pods but to just cut the back out of it?
