Cda-9831 "interrupted"

hi, I have an alpine cda-9831 which has worked great for 2 years but now, not so good, actually. not at all. It seems that the poorly designed cup holder in my wrx has led to soda getting onto my deck. now, whenever i power my deck on the display just says "INTERRUPTED" and does not play music. other than that it functions fine. i can press mute and it will say mute, the tilt button works, i can change the display, the time, etc, but no music, or sound for that matter. is the deck just fried? is there anyway to fix it myself?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

actually it says "interrupt"

now, i have done some research and it turns out this is a mode triggered by a feature for cell phones. i checked the wire that controls it and it is not kinked or grounded in any way. my thoughts are that there is something making the connection on the board. could the soda do that? could it be something unfixable?

has soda just gotten onto the face or is ur cupholder molded into the dash and soda somehow got through the casing of the deck?

it is part of the dash, so when the soda spilled it went right to the back of the deck.

i took the whole thing apart, took the drive out and everything and then washed it in hot soapy water, dryed it off and put it back together. it works!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

you should've give it time to dry before powering. what about resetting it?

Yeah, soda pop or even water can cause a short to ground.
