Cda-7995 Help?!

**** 30 min when i swapped out my 7521s to my 7998 it was about 5 min anywho i know on the decks like our theres switches for the cd player and ai net controls you might want to look for one of those see what happens

Haha, well alpine to alpine might be 5 minutes... But I did have to cut all the wires from the old deck, clean them up, then attach the alpine wiring harness, tape it all up. Plus... the actual work of taking the dash apart. I definately couldn't do it in 5 minutes. :p

I dunno, I'll call my alpine dealer, see whats up.

No, the solid blue wire isn't hooked up to anything... blue/white is hooked up to my remote wire. Like I said, I am getting radio, just not CD.
Have a little more faith in me, guys! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
If you're getting radio, but not CD, then it's definitely an issue with the remote turn on wire that you used. There is a thread over on SD dedicated to just this issue.

I talked to my stereo shop, and it sounds as though the pins might have been switched around in the harness. Blue/white stripe is where blue should be, and visa versa. Lets hope he verifies this and I can get some sweet CD sound in her car. haha!

which hu did you come from?
This is my girlfriends car, remember... I personally have a 7998, and now she has a 7995. Her system started out as a budget build... I bought a JVC KD-SC500. She loved the interchangeable face plate colours //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif haha! I also got her some 6.5" memphis speakers... and we called it a day. I hooked up the JVC headunit, and the speakers... and then added a 10" alpine type R I had lying around in a small sealed box. I used a 3~ year old fosgate 250M that I had lying around as well... the system stayed like that for a while.

Then I came accross a fosgate 200a4 4 channel amp... so I added that -- made a bigg difference. I also upgraded to what (I think) are the best stinger rca's you can get. They look a lot like my streetwires ZN6, which are obscenenly expensive.

So it stayed just like that for a few months... but you could tell the bass was coming from behind you. She complained about it... I knew the easy fix was to get a deck with time correction. Just so happened that my buddy informed me of a guy selling his 7995 (a deck far better than I had hoped to get for her) and I bought it.

It sounds really ****ed good right now. I have some 5.25" components that are going to take the place of the 6.5" memphis coax's... and the memphis' will be moved to the rear, to add some fill. It already sounds good... but will soon sound very very good. Considering I just slapped it all together for my girlfriend... I am very very happy with it right now. The deck made a HUGE difference.

Here's her showin off her sick ride! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

whoah nice ***.. i mean sound... really really nice one

oh and i thought 7995 had 4 time correction channels only (Front+Rear), thus not being able to set it for the subs, or am i wrong? how do you compare the SQ from this hu to the 7998?

you could revert subwoofer phase to make the bass come to the front, for this push volume dial til subwoofer level adjustment shows up, next press > to revert the phase...

another way to do this is to revert the polarity of the sub wires on the amplifier or use the phase 180 on the amplifier (if it has it)

edit: on a side note, her sound is just like the way i like any sound... alpine hu, fosgate amps (i love them too), Type ARRR subs (lol) i've been considering affording one, havent heard yet thou... and simple installation, amps screwed to the back of the backseat, wires exposed, removeable subwoofer box... without lights or any blinging shit, this is how i like a car audio installation... if something goes wrong it's easy to figure out and to replace any wire it's a breeze too...

I was trying to explain this to my friend the other day.

The 7998 has 6 channels of time correction, true. But guess what, in any given system, chances are, the sub is the furthest away -- and therefore gets NO delay. So your extra 2 channels don't even get used!

However, the iPersonalize website is retareded... and since the 7995 only has 4 channels, it doesnt even ask you for the sub distance. Which is stupid, because once you add a speaker that is further away than the rest, all other time correction values are adjusted! So even though you only have 4 channels... 4 channels is all you need, unless you have like an 8 speaker setup.

It is sort of tricky... but I went to alpines site, and said I have a 7998 (though I do, I was doing this for HER car with the 7995).

Since it thinks I have 6 channels... it asks for distances to FR FL RR RL + SUB

Plug in all those values... it will give you a delay for FR FL RR RL but Sub will be set to ZERO. So you can use the 7998's values, in your 7995. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you like, send me your measurements from your head to FR FL RR RL AND your Sub... and I'll send you new values, that WILL sound better than the old ones you are using. It'll be just like you have 6 channels of time correction.
