CD1e's, CD2, Cd1 pro, others. most capable horns?

I have some cd1e's, but heard they are not as efficent as the others.

Well i might upgrade.

which horns do you guys reccomend

My mids are xxx 6.5's

It doenst have to be ID. I heard that the cd1e's are big harsh, not as effiecient.

whats the take.

cd1es are only harsh if they aren't tuned right. I was able to get the cd1e pretty smooth with very little hints of harshness.

All other horn drivers are more efficient. CD1es aren't as efficient because they are piezoelectric drivers, not real compression drivers.

CD1pro horns are some of the best bang for the buck horns. Good top end extention and fairly little EQ is needed.

your biggest problem is going to be your mids at this point. most people say the XXXs are unnatrual sounding, and they dont extend well up to 1.5k or so [about where your horns should be crossed over]

imo - thats your biggest problem. eaither that, or positioning\aiming and eq\xover equipment.
