CD player won’t play

What model is your CD player?
I‘m not sure! I looked over the face of the unit for a model number but there is none. The unit is a factory supplied McIntosh unit by Subaru for the VDC Outback from that year. Radio appears to work fine. When I try to play a CD, I get the er - 06 message.

I looked on a few Subaru forums and found some threads with the same/similar issue. Pretty much it's your deck not reading the CD due to dirt, dust, or the laser is failing. It's recommended to clean the CD or run a laser cleaning disc through your deck (like the old CD/DVD cleaner ones with the small brushes on them). Hope this helps!
