cd player skipping

a jvc deck thats like three years old, i dont know the exact model. its in a 1998 jeep cherokee
The dash is not very stable in that vehicle to begin with/made by dodge as well, as all theyre vehicles dashes rattle and move/shake on just a daily ride.I would suggest bracing the HU to a solid foundation first, try that out.I had a friend that had a 2003 Cherokee, and running a pair of heavy 12s, and we had to take 2 braces of metal and brace the hu to the floor, which worked just fine.Alot of HUs over the last 6yrs or so have a very nice anti skip mechanism in them compared to earlier versions

hm, like did you weld the braces to the housing then bolt or weld them down to the floor?

I know I'm gonna encounter the same issues.I have an older jvc I want to use in my explorer. I've heard about back straps. I have a deck with USB, but I think CDs sound better and the CD player deck is a better all around piece

My avx77 started when I went from my mcd1000.1 to my T1500.1 and its bolted solid and i dont see anyway to isolate it without major mods so I just dial it back on CDs & DVDs and stick with my iPod for getting loud.

Set screw on back of the HU, or some only have a tapped outlet, use a screw and attatch both brackets there, and run to the ***** housing/floor, and we used self tapping screws with washers approx 1/2in long,,very easy to do,once you get that dash compartment out of the way

Hmm, a thought,,,you can use a portable CD player, and run through the aux??and place it on a towel to help deaden out the vibration?I know it blows not to be able to use the HU cd ,but if you want to use the cd and be able to crank it up,without having to buy another hu??Might be worth a try..Its like back when cassette hu were used, and a cassette adapter to portable cd was used

What I really want to do to have a custom dash kit made, of wood probably, so the deck can slide in and out with extended wires. So when I wanna bump hard I can slide it out and sit it in my lap of hold it

They used to make portable cd holding trays, and i ended up putting springs on all 4 corners of it, and worked great, and was cheap to do,since i was pretty much a broke a ss back then:D

My Clarion bias aside, I do not agree with this statement. I've owned Clarion, Eclipse, Pioneer and older Sony's. Had issues one way or another with every brand. Clarions new lineup is the one to beat this year.
