cd player broken fix or not

Should i go to a pioneer rep close by and see if they can fix my HU? or should i just buy a CB100II and just use an ipod? does anyone know the cost of repairing a HU? .. i think its just a resistor on one of the wires that needs to be replaced

anyone got an opinion? has anyone gotten a HU repaired? If i buy the CB100II i can get it for like 32$ .. vs cost of repairing cd player
