CASSETTE PLAYER jammed

hello,

i have a 2004 toyota tacoma with a stock sound system - the manual does NOT contain the manufacturer or model number.

the cassette player's eject button has been pushed (by a child who will never touch it again) up into its hole, the door is open and the cassette is locked in.

any ideas on how to free up this problem?

just like when you see a sniper on CoD4 in a perch and you sneak up behind it...

knife him.

and i mean the child. Make sure you have insurance on him. Then go buy a system. You'll have a sweet ride and not have to deal with a kid. AWESOME.

thank you for responding.

are you refering to the use of the knife to jar the button or the cassette?

i didn't use a knife, i used a slim screwdriver on both. the button just slides around in it's hole and the cassette won't come out.

do you know if the unit has a faceplate?

possible that the button is now bad .. and u have to get a new headunit ..

i want to FIX it (if possible). i can't afford to buy a new system at this time (but, i HAVE to HAVE the MUSIC!)

the child is not mine, otherwise i'd bungee it to the bed of the truck.

From looks your gonna need a a new HU alone, if the button wont come lose at all....

the head unit is the tape player

call some salvage yards, or check some vehicle specific forums, you can probably get one cheap

the eject button has a "plate" (where you push) that enables the unit to eject the cassette - it slides up and into the hole and almost disappears.

i can slide it around, but it won't push IN to activate .
