My first carpeting job. Mildly happy with it, mainly because the sides didn't turn out as nice as I wanted, but oh well I can only get better.

Looks great so far from those pics. I know I wasn't all that happy with how my first carpet job turned out, also due to the sides, but no one else can see where the quality is lacking. Hard to tell from those pics but looks like you did the router trick and tucked the carpet in, or just trimmed it now really sure.

X2 on detail shots of the side, Otherwise great lookin job //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/2thumbs.gif.fdc3ba010dbb42b61704534b46d02fe4.gif

The flash really makes it look a lot worse. It's not grey, and you can't see the wood half as much as it seems in the pics. But yeah, I tried to use the method that I linked in my earlier post, but it just didn't seem to work for me. The seams just didn't want to come together.

I have another box that I just finished that needs to be carpeted but I built it with the sides pushed in about half an inch, so theres a lip around the side which hopefully will make that one easier to carpet. I'll just have to wait and see.

it will only get better.

You need to secure the box. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Yea thats actually pretty good right there. The flash sure does bring it out, but even then not too bad at all. Fill in the spots with some perminant marker for now and never look back. As long as you have learned something from this experience then you have done well. Keep up the good work.

I actually just put in the mounting brackets for the box today... well one of the brackets anyway. They're 1/8th inch hardened steel L brackets that bolt to the floor and the side of the box. I think they should do the job.

I'll put the other bracket in tomorrow and take pics.
