I've heard a lot of people saying that caps are worthless......is that true?....im currently running a 20 fared cap in addition to a red top optima batt ....im sure it helps somehow right?......let me know what you guys think...thanks guys....peace 0

So far I haven't seen mine do much.... but then again it isnt a 20 farad... **** that alot of farads...

mine's a 2 farad... and it's supposed to help but I've yet to confirm it... idk..

I think what people get at is that compared to an auxilary battery, batts do NOTHING! Just like Kinetic says... their smallest of batteries, which is probably the same size as your 20 farad cap... is equivalent to a 100 farad cap! Kinetic HC600 can be picked up for about 100 bucks... cheaper on here if you can find it.

A 20F Cap is pretty much a drop in a bucket for a 1000w amp. I'd definately use a Kinetik battery 8 days a week over a cap because they can store much more power.

Went from a 1F Cap to the Kinetik HC-600 and man what a difference! I am running a 140A alt feeding 14.51V to the HiFonics High Current amps and they love it. The system definately hit with more authority when I replaced the 1F cap with the HC-600. Got it for $50 on eBay. Kinetik wants you to replace you under the hood battery as well, but I had my charging system checked and have close to 1000 cranking amps available and battery voltage is like 13.7V with the car not running.

storing and releasing charge, but it's in such microscopic amounts it doesn't make much difference.

I wouldn't say caps are "worthless" - they stabilize voltage slightly. The question is what good does that do?

so what would a 1F cap do to a 1000w system? Ive got a old Q-power that i was gonna install in my system that i have had forever, i figured it would do more good then bad, and since i have it already i might as well use it. Atleast its got a voltage meter on it so i will atleast be able to see what voltage my amp is getting...(although i think my amp has one too...)

Standard batteries yes, but the Kinetik is designed to function like a cap, quick dump/recharge with ALOT more oomph behind. The difference was immediately audible. Maybe you should do a little reading before tossing out generalizations.
