caraudio lag HELP

Caraudio.com is lagging on my system as well. I'm guessing it's high traffic at the server end (or somewhere between)

BTW, Alienware - I've always heard that their prices are extremely high for what you get. Do you find this to be true, or are people just blowing smoke (no insult intended, i'm just curious)?

1. at my friends it seems to be working fine and fast but not here

2. and alienware makes amazing computers, they aren't cheap but the prices are the same as all the big companies but it doesnt matter it was a gift

Really, thats interesting. If your friend has teh same ISP as you do, I'd guess that the problem lies in some settings on your computer (defaults are not always the best), and my computer too as we seem to have the same problem. I'm gonna try an old trick I learned, maybe it'll help.

If you wanna give it a shot, all you do is go into your internet settings and set your browser cache (temporary internet files) to 25MB or less (my default was 1125MB - OUCH). Sometimes searching through large caches is known to slow things down.

Thats cool about alienware being comparable. I've seen pictures of their systems, and they look sweet, but as I stated, always heard that the price was outrageous (ie. $5000 for a $1500 system).

Hopefully my tip helps out, I won't know until I post this reply so good luck

------edit-------

It seems to have helped so far. The page loaded faster than of late.

And don't forget to clear your temporary internet files as well after you change the cache size

thanks i will try it... and my system was almost 5,000 but that includes every option being the best , a 22" monitor, and a sick 5.1 surround sound .... alotta money for a computer YES it is but for my last b-day...so HEY //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

where do i go to try edit the cache setting?

Just go:

Tools -> Internet Options -> General -> Settings

And change the value near the bottom to something reasonable. Windows by default takes something like 2% of your HD or some other unrealistically high number.

Sounds like an Awsome B-day gift. And belated Happy b-day

go to hell u loser .... if i was spoiled my mom would have bought me a nice comp along time ago but a random family member who is like 80 decides to give it to me cause they are old and might as well spend their money so yeah UR GAY

I still say the only way to get a computer is build it yourself. Thats what I did. Started out as a HP Pavilion XL773 and now the only thing I have left of it is the original HP HD which is used for music along with the HP Keyboard and 17" monitor. I dont really like anything over a 17" monitor, anything over that and you have to have an extremely fast video card to handle such high resolutions.

i've got a 100% assembled PC. about 6 months back, it was the shits, but now I guessit's entry level. Oh well, who needs all the hardware when all you use it for is for forums like these and downloading ****? :p
