Caraudio.com Shipping account

I just had an idea not sure if it will work but here it goes. We here on caraudio.com do a LOT of business with shipping companies UPS FEDEX USPS ect. I know people can setup shipping accounts with these companies to receive a discounted rate on shipping charges. The more you ship the greater the discount. If it were possible to set up a shipping account that members of CA.com could use im sure we would all get a huge discount on shipping charges. If every transactions that was made on CA.com was shipped using the CA.com shipping account im sure everyone would receive a very nice discount. Im not exactly sure who can use a shipping account once one is set up. If a persons name has to be set as an authorized user or if anyone can use the account but i think it would be something worth checking out. Maybe if it were possible we could get the account information stickied in the classified sections for all to use or for people to make a request to be added to the authorized user list. Whats does everyone think about this idea? Does anyone have any information on how shipping accounts work?

I went to return a broken motherboard to an ebay seller in china. My price to send it back to him using fedex was $120 I used his shipping account and it was only $48

Seems a good idea. You have to be classified as a business for you to get shipping rate discounts.
We could do what my car club did and say we are a non profit organization. We got a non profit tax id# so that we could open a bank account in the name of our club. I dont know what fedex or ups require to provide as proof of being a business. Maybe a moderator or someone could do that work if it were needed. May even cut down on scamming. Im sure you can login and see if what packages were shipped and to where so if someone said they sent you a package you could check online and see if they are lying that is if they used the ca.com shipping account.

I used to work for T-Mobile with access to the UPS shipping account so I can tell you a little bit about the system.

A business has a certain account number, and then users can be added under it by entering validation info into their own UPS account. So each user could create their own UPS account (used in the "My UPS" section) and associate that account with the specific shipping account created for ca.com. When I worked for T-mobile, I had the ability to change shipping info, such as shipping address or names. Significant changes made were billed to T-mobile. I don't know how account delegation is used to decide who can change address. You would not want someone able to change an address when ever they want.

You are correct the discount is very large. I once shipped a package from ATL to Maimi Friday afternoon for Sat AM delivery for 8.50

but you can also get a discount by just signing up for an account and letting them direct bill your card, savings are upwards of %25 compared to taking it in store and paying.

my corporate FedEx account (for work) is 50% of what a consumer would pay. then again, I work for a $8 billion dollar company and guess we do a lot of shipping here and there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
