Scott told me that the flatwind coil also boosts the 800w RMS of the SSE to 1000W RMS

Yes power handling, and thermal handling go up a tad with a change from the round wire to the flat wound.

I'd imagine flat wound could allower for bigger guage in the same sized gap or the same guage in a smaller gap.

The first would increase power handleing and lower inductance per coil size and the second would increase Bl slightly... Either way a good thing.

Will these subs require tons of recones as RE. I know, I know i'll catch a little $hit for this but its true. As with RE dustcaps blowin out, surrounds coming apart, spiders losenin and puncturing eyes and ears. Are you fellas gonna use better adhesives to secure these parts to your subwoofers?? Are you going to use stiffer spiders or lose spiders to control the cone movement? Just curious.
