Chicago for my pizza... well actually Costco for a slice... this is the West, we dont have good pizza here.

My son is 3 and is interested in all things mechanical. Must be something in the genes. He "helps" sometimes (not at the shop... hed lose a limb real quick there). I give him cones and parts and he builds speakers and houses and whatever from them in his play room. Oh, but if I ever get caught driving and not rock out hard enough I get yelled at. Music started with him before he was born (headphones and speakers to the womb thing). Not sure if it makes me a bad dad, but his earliest favorite I can remember was Pantera... He has an uncanny knack for remembering music. It freaks me out sometimes. His current favorite is a band called Kings of Nothing. Better taste in music than I do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Dont get me started on names of things. I think that is wht I am worst at by far. Resonant Engineering?!?!?! Rolls off the tongue like you just had 14 shots of novacaine and 4 molars removed.

The old names for RE stuff meant something to me. A big part of my life... and very few know what they mean.

I used up most of the names I would ever like to use with RE. Stuff I have now is just stuff. Really last minute names to give to the web designer just to keep things moving along. They do have meanings... but I might save the BTL for a freebie contest one day.

What do I want to be when I grow up? Retired. Then I can finish all the projects I have collecting dust. But I am thinning the heard of cars. 2 people that can drive them and 6 cars at my house. (conjures up visions of cars parked on the lawn with grass growing through the rotten floorboards... lol) Not quite the case as they all work and I rotate them. They all have specific plans... but time seems to go too fast. Oh, and the infamous "crab truck"...

I was somewhat disappointed with the BTL "BLT" comment coming in a couple of pages into the first post. I had higher hopes for the car audio boards than that. I figured one of the first 5 posts would make mention of it. Makes it even funnier if you knew me personally too...

Hmmm... crab truck. Swapped out a set of XXX mids in ported enclosures in the doors with some LPG tweeters for a proto set of 5.25" drivers and an old Dyn tweeter in an MTM alignment sealed. Im thinking with the space I have Ill go ahead and port them again and really bump up the midbass from them. No sub in their right now... small space and ungodly loud as it is. Plays smooth to 40 Hz right now with cabin gain, so Im not really crying about the lack of sub.

Mercedes just go stripped down for a system... but I have a neighbor that has been bugging me about buying it... wife wont complain with 1 gone.

Jeep GC has RE 6.5 mids up front with some old proto tweeters I had from god knows where. 12" Q in 1 cuft sealed with about a pound of poly fill (35.1 powering it).

Wifes car has RE 6.5s and Vifa tweeters up front and a XXX 6.5 replacing the factory sub in the stock location and tuned to 40. 200W Fosgate amp powering the XXXmid.

VW Thing has ancient USD waveguides with some reworked Radian drivers on them. 8" prosound mids in custom kicks upfront... all collected dust for years. Most of the car has been redone in the past 3 months and I need to stick the new engine in and get it cruising again. I will be using (4) Fi X12s sealed in that.

Other car is factory.

As you can see, Im not bass crazy. I simply enjoy good sound and most of all, the music. I got way too into tweaking and then into making excuses for this or that for far too long. Too much of a testbed system and not enough of it just finished. Home theater was the same thing for a long time... too much testing and not enough finishing. Ive got a simple home theater system from one of the companies I design for right now. Works well and I like it. Then upstairs I have my tweeko tube and vinyl stuff that I enjoy. I move things in and out of that one all the time. Something about a dark room, lit only by some tubes, that makes music even more enjoyable... and then I get the oddest looks from my computer set up. A pair of EL34 tube monoblocks flanking my monitor with some proto high efficiency 6.5s on either side. Dont know too many people running tubes for their computer. Kind of retarded... but like I said, I like the glow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Old? Well in the past 2 years I started to look my age (or worse by some friends comments //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

Old enough to be driving a van and touring the US with bands when many of you werent thought of //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I say 38.

OK... new game of guess my age. 1 guess each for the next hour... whoever gets it right, Ill send them an X series sub.

We will not do amps in the future (unless we make them in house which is pretty much equivalent to "no")

Amps are a PITA. Even with a solid build house making them, there are way too many variables involved. I understand amp design and basics, but my amp building pretty much revolves around tubes, and not solid state. Not that I am a control freak, but if I can have my hands in it and be able to repair and know the product inside and out, its not something I need to get behind.

On that same note, we are forging a nice relationship with another large US company that does have amps. Seems to be a fairly symbiotic thing as we surely dont step on eachothers toes.

Ill check back on Sunday morning when I get back into town and see who won...

Remember... 1 hour from this post and 1 guess per person.
