Car radio sound shutst off???

I have an 09 Chrysler 300 that has a base model radio in it. The issue I have is that when you turn it on the sound comes on for about 4 seconds then you hear like a pop in the speakers and the sounds stops. The radio still has power since the volume, station and cd track numbers still work, just no sound. I can shut it off and on all I want it will just play for about 4 seconds each time I turn it on. I was just wondering if any of you here had an idea of what could be the issue. Thanks in advance for your help.
