Car insurance question

or, you could just make good grades to begin with and you'd never have to worry about this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

3.67 GPA for a junior EE major :) FTW

you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
tell your dad to call the college and ask what your GPA / grades are; they won't give it to him.

You have to sign a form called a FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) in order for family or anyone really to get your grades besides you. Discussion of grades in college are a BIIIIG deal; most professors will not discuss your grades with you through email unless you give them written permission. No one is legally allowed to give your grades to your mom, dad, spouse, dog, whomever, and definitely not your insurance company.

The only way a public institution could give out your grades is through a federal subpeona (sp?), and no insurance company is going to go through the trouble, and they probably wouldn't be allowed to even if they tried.
so do they even bother to check with the college, so in other words, their taking your word that their correct?

They can't check with the college even if they wanted to. The college may not legally release your grades (transcript) or anything of the like to anyone, and your insurance is certainly no exception.

So yes, all they really can do is take your word. Now if they somehow found out, then you'd probably be in alot of **** (insurance fraud, and charges for forging your transcript), but the chances of them finding out are 1 in a billion.

So you have nothing to worry about.

My brother got this discount through State Farm. He was on my parents insurance all the way through college. (Me not so lucky, I used to be the Black sheep) I remember my dad needed his grades one time, my brother just printed his grades off the interweb and gave them to my dad. So, it should be easily fixable.

trust me, youll realize how hard it is to get someones grades when if you try to trasnfer schools...you gotta sign a million papers just so they will send the transcripts to another college..

Johnny most people can do that, however, he doesnt want to tell his dad he got lower grades. so that would be useless...know what I mean
