so this was weird, i'm thinking maybe alternator,

key was turned to on position but car was not on, so just had my stereo running in the driveway only for about 3-4 minutes, I pressed the brake then the radio shutoff and came back on, tried to start the car all i heard was clicking, car wouldnt start, I left it and came back 2 hours later and car started......

Should I get a capacitor ? I am running 2500 watt amp, 5000rms watt sub, then a JBL amp for my speakers and tweeters, ground kit, no alt to battery wire though

yeah I ran a volt meter cause that was my initial thought came up 12 volts, so battery wasnt dead, plus all lights and everything still worked

nope, i dunno maybe it was a battery issue, im going to mess around with it tomorrow, and probably decide if I should get a cap, or add the alt to positive battery wire, I have it already, i just couldnt really get the terminal to sit nice on the alternator terminal

A capacitor is a waste of time and money.

Again what amp are you running and what car? If you are running a true 2500rms you should have ATLEAST a second battery. An HO alt and second battery prefered.

Shark Audio 2500D its pretty solid built, from what I read and testing around internet it puts out a solid a 1800/2000 @ 1 ohm, its a 01 toyota solara, I do have a second battery I could hook up just a basic a 12 volt

my alternator is only 80 amps to before I get a second battery I'd have to upgrade my alternator, dont think my alt could hand charging two batteries

Make sure you double check the terminals on the battery, i know you said that wasn't it but i've had that happen before. Lights would work but as soon as i turned the key i would just get a click and lights would go out, wiggle the ground terminal and it would start right up for me.

yeah ill double check, i'm kind of leaning towards the battery right now, i think I am going to try add alternator to battery wiree, hopefully that will allow it to charge better when car is on, and I think ill only be running stereo when the engine is started now,

Out of the amps you mentioned Kenwood 805 hands down best bang for the buck. You won't be able to tell any difference from 5x7 to 6.5. You may...

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
