about a third of the (maybe a little less) "hi output" alts are about worthless in applications you think they would be. i have seen alts that said 200 amps but couldnt put out more than 150 even at 3500 rmps and some are lower than stock alts at idle...and turn on at 1500 rpm. just make sure you know what you are getting before you get it if its 200 less than a known good brand that is a good sign as well

eheh... well, like i've said, sometimes i also listen music while hanging out with my friend... and now i'm planning to get a tv at the back of my car... and i dont want to inhale any exhaust fumes while playing games or watching dvd...

what is the extra batteries job? what is the alts job? how much power really does a 2000 watt system really pull when playing music? ill bet that on average its nowhere near full draw capability and probably only close to full draw for less than 1/10th the time its played. lol unless you are trying to fry stuff from listening to 35 hz test tones for 45 min lol batteries increase the reserve capacity. all of this stuff helps but you need to know what works in conjunction with what. big 3 and a deep cycle works real good unless you have a 3000 watt amp that u blast all the time (givin your alt is healthy and over 105 amps) i have a buddy that runs 4500 watts on a ford focus factory alt lol 2 batteries in back 0 ga wire for the big 3 only time it dims is when its to loud to drive with anyway.
