Capacitor REMOVAL

I have a system right now thats in a car thats dead, the battery is dead, and it has a 500.1 jl and 2 jl10 w3. And a deck and some speakers. how do i uninstal it with the cap... dont i have to discharge it? but if the electrical is dead like theres no power in the battery. do i even need to worry?

Still try to discharge it, it may still have power stored...

no, shop installed it, im taking of the instalation stuff.

just take it out then throw it in a lake or somethin it'll be good

hold it in your teeth if possible

make sure youre holding the metal part of the screwdriver. if you feel heat, dont drop it hold the screwdriver there until your fingertips are black. when fingertips are crunchy the battery is finished discharging.

Just touch a screwdriver to each terminal and that will discharge it...

it's really not a big deal, if you want to make sure it's completely discharged, i'd hook up a light to it like someone suggested, hook it up to anything that draw electricity..

otherwise, just take it out, and it will discharge over time, just don't put it anywhere that little kids might get to it, like in your trunk
