Capacitor question

first off caps are a waste of money...second go return it and get ur money back...wat u need to do is beef up ur alternator.
If you would look at my signature you would see that in my case that has all been done already. It just so happens that the make of car I drive is well known for having low voltage to begin with, caused by the ecm idling the engine too low, So this was the next logical step.

I contacted Visonik on the phone and they state that the reason the cap isn't shutting off is because it is detecting the draw of power from my alarm system. And the display shuts off once it detects no current flow in the system. Has anyone else heard of this?

The peckerhead on the phone gave me the response that " Oh I wouldn't worry about it , worst case scenario is that the display will draw all the power out of the cap and then it will shut off. And the cap will recharge the next time you start the car up."

Caps = "Cheap fix" fix the problem the right way, If your alernator isn't puting out enough you may need a different belt wheel on it. Again size is important. If you can't get the right amount of output from one at idle you might need dual alternators //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/imdaman.gif.bc6c552e19aa4ad8c47461144f40eb1a.gif

Ok, last night I turned my alarm off to see if it was infact the alarm causing the capacitor not to shut off. And sure enough the cap did shut off, so it was my alarm keeping the cap on by drawing power.

With out any useless comments like " take it back or remove it". Does anyone have any ideas on how to rectify this little problem?

Now what about your cap turning off occasionly while youve been playing your stereo?

I ran my power wire from my battery to fuse breaker then to cap and from cap to my fuse block, from there to my amp. 4gauge power wire and ground both from cap and amp, seperate grounds.
