capacitor problem

Hey, I had a friend install a capacitor a couple days ago for me and now whenever I turn off my car the power light on the capacitor stays on. Is this normal?

does the cap also have a small terminal called REM?

no, just a positive and a negative terminal.

i have a cap and my display will stay on for about 5 minutes after my car shuts off than it shuts its self down and lets the cap decarge to about 12 amps
